First show

What went well:
I think the enthusiasm and connection between the audience and us were good we were making them comfortable having good chats with everyone so the vibe was pretty good.

What didn't go well:
I wasn't taking responsibility for my project and I couldn't be in two places at once I was asked to be getting more tickets, change, a place for the money etc. and couldn't be at the desk the whole time. I did ask if some people could help me but I should have be more responsive.

What we can do better next time:
Write everything that needs to be done throughout the night down and go through it checking that everyone knows whats happening so I can stay in one place and manage that well.

To get some ushers.

What questions have you asked, answered, and now need to pursue?
I've asked several questions to the producer of the production and got information about event night.
Here are some questions I've asked;
Tickets for people not enrolled in school get in for free?
People who attend school (primary, secondary) have to pay?
Will food be sold to people who come to the production?

And questions related to the production.

Reflection for 16th-Joshua

What have I learnt so far: Nothing so far but I am hoping to learn something but I am afraid that I will not learn anything because I feel this is more of an action-ing big project and not what I expected.
What has gone well, not well: Not well, I did not focus, I had no specifics, the ideas given were to broad, my group were not together, could not ask for help regarding specifics, my group do not work well together,
What is next: Asking Danielle for help because I want to achieve and learn something.

Reflection week 9 term 3 - Erin

What you have learnt so far?
I have learnt about sustainable promoting e.g. how it works, the effectiveness of it. I have also learnt quite a lot about event managing and the responsibilities and challenges that come with it.
What has gone well, not well and strengths 'n weaknesses?
I think our planning has gone really well and our kickoff was good, but I feel like we can do so much more. One thing that would be better is if we had more time together on other days of the week, I think one day a week for proper work is kind of hard and things start to pile up throughout the week.
What is on your to do list next week?
Finishing our last weeks to do list and start going through all the other top priority things needed.
What will you do differently next week?
Maybe not muck around so much try to work on my own and I feel like i need to ask for help more often.

My reflection - Isaac

What we learnt -
We learnt only a little quantity of what we did today which were, getting different ideas and concepts for our designs.

What has gone well and not well -
Today went well as expected because, logo got finished, flyer is being made and all most completed. Next week we're going to complete our flyer and ticket designs.

What is your to list next week -
To work on our flyer and ticket designs.

What will you do differently next week -
Remove my self to not get distracted from other people.

Brainstorms

What is Economic sustainibility

  • Are we sustainable as it is?
  • Using the money we earn effectively
  • People don't know how to save money well enough.
  • Using the resources we have to get maximized results.
  • Using only the resources we need to get what we need.
  • Teaching the community.
  • Using things in moderation.

What is Social sustainability

  • Helping the community.
  • Making friends.
  • Relationships, between neighbors and locals.
  • Public spaces school.
  • How people in the community use their spaces EG. house, school.
  • Peoples quality of life now and in the future.
  • Getting involved within the community.
  • Community development.
  • Making the community and the spaces, a better place to be.

What is environmental sustainability?

  • It's like cleaning a house, then maintaining it.
  • It's using resources, being creative.
  • "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle."
  • When people don't know how much waste they are creating.
  • "The problem is not the problem, The problem is you attitude about the problem"
  • Taking care of nature so that future children and grandchildren.

How does art enrich our community

  • Showing the community historical events from A diffrent perspective
  •

Sustainability questions

  • How might we sustainable promote our events?
  • What interests people to acknowledge our event?
  • How might we involve the community in promotion
  • What materials can be used?

Exploring ideas around our inquiry.

Today we started exploring the word inquiry. We started with making a list of words that make up inquiry e.g. the things required to achieve an extended abstract in the word inquiry. After creating a list we separated into groups to come up with questions associated with our big project (for our group marketing and event managing.) After doing some proper research about inquiry, social sustainability, economic sustainability, environmental and cultural sustainability. I feel like I contributed quite well but I have to say Josh was the most contributive in our group. The brainstorm was harder than I thought it would be but it was a good learning experience. Overall I thought it was a successful session and I can't wait for next week.
(Although I am in the marketing side of this project I have some amazing ideas for costumes and I would love to help.)

Question storm/Promoting.

Question:
  1. What does effective marketing look like?
  2. Who is the target audience?
  3. Where will we be getting materials?
  4. Where are we hosting the event?
  5. How to sustainably promote our event?
  6. When are we going to promote?
  7. How do large companies promote?
  8. Why do we promote things?
  9. Where we are going to promote?
  10. What interests people to acknowledge the promotion?
  11. Who could we ask for help?
  12. Any local businesses that can help?
  13. What media can be used to help?
  14. How can we get the community involved in our promotion?
  15. What unusual materials can be used?
   = Main ideas.

Week 2 reflection: How well did I contribute to my groups

Today in big projects I feel I contributed extremely well in coming up with questions, and very well with ideas about what sustainability is.

My reflection - 26/08/2015

My reflection from today has gone very good. I have contributed to our group to the questions and research.

Tuesday 18 August 2015

Big project term 3 kickoff.

2k15 Show.
Sustainability matters to me because...
Seeing pictures and videos of the wildlife and pollution on the earth is not only uncomfortable but really disturbing and disgusting how even though everyone talks about being sustainable and helping the earth there is so much more problems with sustainability. I know there are little things that can be done e.g. bike/walk instead of cars, the three R's reduce reuse recycle and sorting our rubbish but I would love to do more. Throughout my life sustainability has always been thoroughly gone over some examples are, my primary school had a major policy around rubbish and waste and whenever someone did litter they would be talked to by a teacher as to why they did so and the consequences (in the long run) of what can happen. Another example was out wearable art show we had every second year. We would put on a catwalk show all around sustainability and promote organisations that help the environment and that can make a difference. But I am not only helping frequently with environmental sustainability but also social and economic sustainability. Social sustainability mean the ability of a community to help develop processes and structures which meet the needs of the current member and supports the ability of the generations to come which helps to maintain a healthy community and environmental sustainability is the ability of an economy to maintain a defined level of economic production endlessly. So I have always been big on the environment and sustaining the important things.

I would like to...
Manage the school show because I feel like this is an amazing leadership opportunity I would get to work with new people, learn new skills be able to take what I have learn elsewhere etc. Another reason is that I haven't done a project like this before and I think I would be great for this particular job and I would love to learn how to get better at event managing, really push my limits and show what I can bring to the table.

My project goal...
I think I really need to focus on staying on track and being more adventurous with what I do throughout this project so I can provide the best of abilities and more. I feel like I have taken a massive step into this project because (confessing) I have gone to what my friends were doing before and only after I realised I didn't get to do what I wanted and they didn't care so now I am ready to work with new friends and reach this project goal.

I will need support with...
The direction I need to head in for event managing. I would love to sit down with someone and go over everything an event manger does and takes care of so I can really get a handle on it and be able to help produce an amazing show.

Sustainability marketing kick off

Sustainability...
Sustainability matters because it determines how long earth is live-able and how we can keep it healthy.

I want to...  Work on promoting the school show and events that go alongside them because I want to make sure that as many people as possible can enjoy and learn something from it.

My Big Projects goal I am working on is...  the big projects goal I am working on is being able to work alone and not in groups.

I will need support with... Ideas, helping with ideas on what I could do...

Sustainability -

Sustainability matters to me because,
Sustainability is all brought all over the world and some people pursue it and some people don't because they don't care about our world and environment. Looking at the pictures made think to my self, is I and the world keeping our place sustainable for us to live in? In my opinion, being sustainable is kind of like thinking out of the box, e.g: using recyclable items, instead of using a car to get where ever you are going maybe use a bike? Some transportation such as trains have been improved to exhale out Carbon dioxide and reduces pollution in our air rather than a car. As from examples from before, you can use many things to keep our environment safe and that's being more sustainable!

I want to,
Work on contributing to this project and help promote the Hobsonville Point Schools show.

My big project goal I am working towards,
